'Nanma' enters second year
Kochi: The second year of 'Nanma' -- a project undertaken by Mathrubhumi and VKC Group in schools -- got off to a great start on the first day of Chingam. Nanma brand ambassador Dulquer Salman was present on the occasion which witnessed many golden moments of virtue, brotherhood and compassion.
The function was organised at the Vocational Higher Secondary School, Panangad, which won the award for the best school in Ernakulam revenue district in the first year of Nanma.
Dulquer inaugurated this year's activities of Nanma by handing over vegetables as Onam gift to K V Narayanan, a kidney patient who had received financial assistance from the school under Nanma project. Narayanan came to the function from Alappuzha Medical College.
The grandmothers of 10 students of the school were presented with Onakkodis. The kids themselves led their grandmoms to the stage.
Seventh standard student Shine Augustin Mathew, who was selected as the 'child farmer' in the panchayat, was honoured on the occasion. When Shine, who suffers from an orthopaedic disease, found it difficult to go to the stage, Dulquer went to him and also took a selfie with him. VKC Group presented him with a cash award of Rs 10,001.
Dulquer told students that being good at heart was enough to succeed in life and added that of all the brands he was promoting, Nanma was his favourite.
