'Kaduku,' web series by 3 Thrissur priests, a hit among audience
Thrissur: The YouTube web series ‘Kaduku’ started by three priests from the district is quickly winning over audiences. The series was started by Fr. Fijo Alappadan, Fr. Pratheesh Kallarakkal, Fr. Grijo Vincent Muringatheri and in each episode they connect a biblical verse with an incident of contemporary relevance.
They started shooting the web series in August. When one of them acts as the cameraman, the others turn actors. And when all of them have to appear in the web series together, they use a tripod. In one of the episodes, they shot the story of bike passengers who choose not to attend to a snakebite victim as they thought he was either a drunkard or a COVID patient.
In each episode, the priests will give out a message in the typical Thrissur slang. The script and direction is done by Fr. Fijo Alappadan. He is also the director of Kalasadan Institute of Fine Arts.
Fr. Pratheesh Kallarakkal, an assistant priest of Olari Little Flower church, is the Media Communications secretary of the Diocese. He is also the editor of the web series. Fr. Grijo Vincent Muringatheri is an assistant priest at St. Sebastian church and has written several amateur dramas.
The episodes will be released on 'Media Catholica' channel, the YouTube channel of Thrissur Diocese, every Friday. Certain episodes are only two minutes long while others last for eight minutes.
