Yousuff Ali's help brings Moosakkutty home after 15 gruelling years abroad
Abu Dhabi: After tragic 15 years abroad filled with jail sentences, travel bans and various other cases, Pattambi native, Moosakkutty, finally returned home. Along with his wife Bushra, Moosakkutty, landed at the Cochin International Airport at 9.30 pm on Friday.
Moosakkutty return was made possible by the crucial intervention of NORKA (Non Resident Keralites Affairs) vice chairman and businessman M. A. Yousuff Ali. Once a popular businessman, Moosakkutty’s life turned upside down after a Ras al Khaimah native filed a complaint against him.
Despite spending five years in Jail, Moosakkutty could not return home as he was facing a travel ban. He was living with his family at Sharjah in a small room. As the complainant was firm on his stance, his return to Kerala became uncertain. Meanwhile, Moosakkutty’s health started deteriorating and he even lost his ability to speak.
Lulu group chairman Yousuff Ali, who happened to know about Moosakkutty’s predicament through Malayalam media, met him at Sharjah. Yousuff Ali assured Moosakkutty that he will be taken to Kerala after finding legal solutions to his liabilities.
Moosakkutty’s release was made possible after Yousuff Ali paid four lakh UAE Dirhams (around Rs 80 lakh) at the Ras al Khaimah court.
