Kuwait City: The Kuwait Ministry of Interior has ordered people who are on visit visa to leave the country before August 31. Earlier, the Kuwait authority had extended the time for visit visa holders amid the pandemic. Now, the new order was issued as this time limit expired.

At the same time, the immigration department also informed that those staying in Kuwait with an expired resident visa should renew the same within August 31.

Meanwhile, over 4,05,000 people got permission to renew their resident visas online by themselves. However, only 60,000 among them have renewed their residence visa or extended its period through the Ministry of Interior’s official website.

According to reports, over 1,45,000 people are continuing in Kuwait without renewing their resident visa online. Hence, the Ministry of Interior has ordered that everyone should make their resident documents valid by registering on the website before August 31.

Those who did not renew the resident visa would be considered as residence visa violators and a penalty will be imposed on them. They would also face legal actions, the Ministry of Interior informed in the order.

People who arrived in Kuwait on family, business, visit or tourist visas should leave the country within August 31. It is learned that over one lakh people in this category have arrived in Kuwait before the pandemic. The Ministry asserted that there is no intention to give them an extension.
