Thiruvananthapuram: The Ministry of External Affairs has intervened to speed up the proceedings in the case of the murder of Malayali nurse and children in Northamptonshire, England. Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan assessed the situation and directed the Indian High Commission to intervene.

The Union minister spoke with the family of Anju Ashok over phone. Muraleedharan assured the family of the central government’s full support.

Vaikom native Anju and her two children Jeeva Saju (6), and Janvi Saju (4) were murdered at their home in Northamptonshire. While Anju was found dead at the house, her children were seriously injured.

The children were rushed to the hospital, where the doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. Anju’s husband Saju was taken into custody following their death.

Anju’s mother Krishnamma had alleged that the former was subjected to domestic violence.
