UAE tells children, senior citizens not to step out of their homes


Authorities have urged upon the use of face masks and social distancing while visiting public places.

Abu Dhabi: UAE health ministry has instructed its senior citizens and children not to step out of their homes under any circumstances due to the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

In the joint statement made by National Disaster Management Authority and Health Ministry, people above the age of 60 and children below the age of 12 have been told not to visit malls, cooperative societies, super markets or other public areas.

There are no restrictions in place for others to visit public places between 6 am and 10 pm. Authorities have urged upon the use of face masks and social distancing while visiting public places. Currently, offices are working with 30 percent of the employees.
