Dubai: UAE lifted the ban on foreigners to enter the country on certain conditions. The residence visa holders who received both doses of Covishield (AstraZeneca) will be allowed to enter UAE from Wednesday. However, uncertainty regarding rapid test still prevails.

Though the health department was directed to arrange facility for rapid test in all four airports, almost all flight companies have stopped ticket booking due to confusion. Also the institutional quarantine rules in Dubai causes ambiguities.

Covid RT-PCR results obtained within 48 hours of the journey should be carried while travelling. There should be a QR code on the PCR negative certificate and a rapid test should be conducted 4 hours before the flight takes off. RT-PCR test should be conducted again after reaching Dubai airport and the passengers should remain in institutional quarantine until the result is obtained. These are the conditions put forward by UAE authorities.

Those who returned to their native places after receiving both doses of Sinopharm, Pfizer and Sputnik vaccines approved by the UAE also can come back to UAE from June 23. UAE has not approved India's Covaxin. Entry ban on visiting visa holders and those who did not receive vaccine will continue. Quarantine rules are not applicable for UAE citizens and diplomats.
