UAE is the garden of tolerance. The award is the reflection of goodness of the country, he added,
Kayamkulam native Saji Cheriyan was awarded the honour after he built a mosque in Fujairah spending around Rs 2.5 crore.
“It is very surprising and notable that government recognised our good deeds. Receiving the award from UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the most beautiful moment in my life,” Saji said.
"I never expected such an honour. I undertook the construction after seeing the unfortunate plight of labours who travel kilometres to mosques on Fridays. The prayers of those good people are reflecting in my life," he further said.
Saji also said if land is obtained abiding to UAE laws, he would be in forefront to build a temple here. The next in my agenda is to build a care home for senior citizens where they will be looked after with respect and love.
