Two children of Keralite nurse couple die in Qatar; food poisoning suspected
Doha: Two children of a couple from Kerala who are working as nurses in Qatar died at Hamad hospital. The couple are undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
The deceased were identified as three-and-a-half-year-old Ridu and seven-month-old Rida. The two are children of Haris, a native of Farooq in Kozhikode and Shameema, a native of Kummankode in Nadapuram.
Haris is a nurse at Abū Nakẖlah public health centre while Shameema is a nurse at Naseem Al Rabeeh Medical Centre in Doha.
There are unconfirmed reports that the two children died of food poisoning. “While Ridu died around 3 am, Rida died around 10 am,” Shameema’s colleagues told Mathrubhumi.
Both Haris and Shameema are undergoing treatment at Hamad hospital. It is learned that their condition is stable.
