4 Malayalis among 6 dead in fire accident in Riyadh

Riyadh: In an unfortunate incident, six people, including four Malayalis, were charred to death after a fire broke out inside a building in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Of the Malayalis, two hail from Malappuram, it is learnt. Bodies of Melmuri native Irfan and Painkannur native Abdul Hakkim have been identified.

The incident took place around 1.30 am on Friday. The deceased reportedly are employees of a petrol pump and include natives of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.

Currently, the bodies are kept at Al-Shumaisi Hospital for post-mortem.

According to preliminary reports, a short circuit in the building led to the fire.
