Resident visa holders no longer have to take prior permission from ICA to return to UAE

UAE had made prior permission mandatory for foreign nationals to return to the country in the context of COVID-19 transmission.

Dubai: Resident visa holders who want to return to UAE do not have to take prior permission from ICA from now. This was a combined decision taken by the National Disaster Management Authority and Immigration department. The decision has provided huge relief to thousands of Indians, including Keralites, who were waiting for permission to return to UAE.

UAE had made prior permission mandatory for foreign nationals to return to the country in the context of COVID-19 transmission. However, people from other countries, including India, can now return to UAE without waiting for the permission from ICA.

Those who wish to return can register their Emirates ID number and Passport details after visiting the website uaeentry.ica.gov.ae. Even though there is no need to take prior permission, all other conditions will remain so including that of COVID testing.
