London: The mortal remains of Malayali nurse Anju Ashok (35) and her daughters, who were murdered in London, have been brought to their home in Vaikom, Kottayam. The bodies will soon be kept for the public to pay homage and the funeral will be held by Saturday noon.

Reportedly, Anju was murdered along with her kids, Jeeva (6) and Jhanvi (4), by her husband Saju at their home in the Northampton region of eastern England. According to the victim’s parents, she was subjected to brutal domestic violence.

Following the incident, Kannur native Saju was taken into custody and charged with murder. Anju’s father said that the accused should be given maximum punishment for the crime.

According to the police, Anju was choked to death using a shawl or a rope. She also suffered injuries on her body, according to the post mortem report.

Anju and Saju tied the knot in 2012. Initially, they resided in Saudi Arabia and later moved to the UK a year back.

Around Rs 28 lakhs were collected by the local Malayalees in England in order to meet the expense to bring the bodies home.
