MA Yusuff Ali donates 1 crore dirhams to UAE’s ‘1 Billion Meals’ campaign

Dubai: Lulu Group Chairman MA Yusuff Ali on Monday announced that he will donate 1 crore dirhams for the next five years to UAE’s ‘1 Billion Meals’ campaign which aims to launch the largest Ramadan sustainable food aid endowment fund in the world.

Speaking about the act, Yusuff Ali said, “The donation to the endowment campaign is my commitment to strengthen UAE's position as a global centre for philanthropy. UAE has always been at the forefront of humanitarian works.”

“I am happy to help the poor by contributing to the ‘1 Billion Meals’ endowment campaign,” he added. The campaign was announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to aid the poor in the world.

The campaign has received donations around 25 crore dirhams within a week of announcement. The campaign is being led by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).
