Kuwait City: As Kuwait temporarily stopped international flight services, the foreigners are in a crisis. The decision to close airport till January 1 was a setback for the foreigners who are staying in quarantine during layover.
If the airport remains closed for a longer period, those who travel to Kuwait via Dubai will be in trouble. Also thousands of NRIs who returned to native places for vacation and those who booked tickets will be facing crisis.
Those who cannot directly fly to Kuwait are currently staying in quarantine at UAE, Turkey, Bahrain and other countries before taking connection flights. They have to fly to Kuwait after 14 days of quarantine. Also the passengers are concerned as the flight companies are likely to increase ticket rate.
Meanwhile, the DGCA officials informed that 600 flight services have been cancelled as Kuwait airport is closed for 10 days. Over 50,000 passengers who booked tickets are in crisis after the airport was closed.
Upto 60 flights per day used to conduct service via Kuwait international airport. The government decided to close the airport after reports of the new coronavirus strain.
