Keralite nurse stabbed to death in Florida; husband arrested
Miami: In connection with the incident where a Keralite nurse was stabbed to death at Broward Health hospital at Coral Springs in South Florida of US, her husband has been arrested by the police. The deceased was identified as Merin Joy (26) hailing from Piravam in Kottayam.
Merin Joy was stabbed at the parking ground when she was returning home after night duty on Tuesday by 7.30 am (Tuesday evening IST). She was stabbed multiple times. Though she was rushed to the hospital immediately, Merin succumbed to the injuries later.
Coral Springs police started investigation and found out that Merin's husband Philip Mathew was responsible for the murder. He was taken into custody. The police said that domestic issues was the reason for the crime. During the attack, Philip Mathew also sustained injuries and he was given treatment at the hospital, the police informed.
