Keralite girl makes remarkable speech at UN Committee on Rights of Child
Pala: Amilyn Rose Thomas, who belong to Pala, gave a speech on child rights at the United Nations Committee. She represented US. Former UN official and MP Shashi Tharoor and Mani C Kappan congratulated her. Amilyn is the aughter of Jose Thomas of Avimoottil, Pala and Marilyn Augustine of Kunnaykkattu, Moolamattom, who are settled in Philadelphia.
The other speakers at the conference were the UN Chair of the Committee for Rights of the Child, Associate Director and Global Chief of UNICEF and special representative of Secretary-General on Violence against Children.
This year's theme was children in alternative care. Amilyn’s life experiences gained from caring for her brother Immanuel, who is suffering from a rare illness, made her an advocate for children's rights.
