Keralite drowns in Kuwait sea while rescuing children of friends

Kuwait City: A Keralite drowned in the sea while trying to save the children of his friends from drowning during a pleasure trip in Kuwait.

The deceased has been identified as Sanil Joseph, a native of Peravoor in Kannur district.

Sanil and family were on a pleasure trip with his friends and their families. While they were bathing in the sea, strong waves dragged Sanil’s friends’ children under. Sanil managed to save the children but was washed away by the waves.

Sanil’s friends, who fished him out, took him to Mubarakiya hospital via air ambulance. However, his life could not be saved.

Sanil is survived by wife Simi Thomas, a staff nurse at Saba Hospital and their children Elizabeth and Anaya Mary. Sanil was an active member of SMCA Abbasiya area St. Jude family unit.
