Kuwait City: The Friends of Kannur Kuwait Expatriates Association (FOKE) has filed memoranda to take required measures to reduce the ticket rate in the flight services from India to Kuwait.

FOKE president Salim MN, General Secretary Lijeesh P and the treasurer Mahesh Kumar informed at press conference that the memoranda in this regard were submitted to Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Jayashankar, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Ambassador of India to Kuwait Sibi George and Kannur MP Sudhakaran.

The commercial flight services between India and Kuwait were stopped for a long time due to Covid induced restrictions. Though the services resumed, the air fare remained high and this caused difficulty to the expats who were planning to return to India. Through the memoranda sent via email, FOKE requested the authorities to intervene to reduce the flight ticket rates.
