Expat Keralites in US to petition Modi against demolition of Maradu flats
Maradu: Expat Keralites in United States who own flats at various apartment complexes here in the municipality have come up against their demolition over violating CRZ rules. Expats are likely to hand over a petition to Prime Minister Narandra Modi who visits the US on Sunday.
The initiative is taken by Kerala origin American citizens who have invested in apartment complexes in Maradu. The move is being made with the help of Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (FOKANA). As part of this, Maradu ‘Holy Faith and H2O residents’ association members held an emergency meeting in New Jersey the other day.
The matter will be discussed with Madhavan Nair, president of FOKANA which represents over 45,000 expat Keralites in the US.
Linu Thomas, a member of FOKANA and an owner of a flat in Maradu which faces demolition order said a letter has been sent to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijyan while an e-mail has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to solve the issue.
