Dubai immigration department honours Keralite for 31 years of service

Nejeeb stated that he wanted to look after his parents and live with his family for the rest of his life.

Dubai immigration department honours Keralite for 31 years of service

Dubai: A non resident Keralite employee, who was preparing to return to Kerala after completing service of 31 years, was honored by the Dubai immigration department. Kollam native Nejeeb Hamid was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation for his excellent service in the department. Nejeeb worked in the office of Dubai immigration Assistant Director and the Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs, Major General Obaid Bin Muhair Suroor.

Nejeeb reached Dubai in 1988 with a visa for an electronic company. Later he met Brigadier Salam Bin Suloom, who was a customer of the company, which led to him being appointed at the immigration office. He worked with the different chiefs of the department for a long 31 years. Out of this, he worked for 17 years with Colonel Jasim Abdul Gafoor. It was with the support of this officer he was able to support his eight sisters. The current Assistant Director of the immigration department, Major General Obaid Bin Muhair Suroor, has also helped Nejeeb.

He was able to help Keralites who were struggling without proper residential certificates and also assist the poor through humanitarian activities of the immigration department. Nejeeb stated that he wanted to look after his parents and live with his family for the rest of his life. His wife is Naseema and they have 3 children.
