Dubai bans Air India Express flights till Oct 2 over `Covid +ve' flyers
Dubai: Dubai temporarily banned Air India flights, which was part of the Vande Bharat mission to let COVID patients travel to their homeland. The Air India Express flight to Dubai has been rescheduled to Sharjah following the ban.
The ban was implemented by Dubai Civil Aviation after finding out that the airline company let two COVID patients travel to Dubai. The ban will be from September 18 to October 2.
Air India flights cannot travel in or out of Dubai until October 2.
Dubai Civil Aviation sent a notice to Air India after finding that the airline brought a COVID patient to Dubai in the previous month. Another patient from Jaipur also reached Dubai on September 4 via Air India flight.
It was after this that the Dubai authorities decided to take strict action against Air India. It was mentioned in the notice that Air India Express will have to bear all expense of the treatment of the COVID patients.
