Corona outbreak: Kuwait stops issuing visa
Kuwait City: In the wake of Coronavirus outbreak, Kuwait has stopped issuing visa and entry permits, informed government sources. All educational institutions will remain closed till March 26. It has been directed to close all movie theatres and hotel halls and to postpone wedding receptions and other celebrations.
The decision in this regard was taken in an emergency cabinet meeting. The government took strict action as the number of positive Coronavirus cases increased in the country day by day. Theatres, schools and auditoriums were closed down in order to stop people from gathering in public places.
According to latest reports, about 65 people were conformed with Coronavirus in Kuwait. Also, an Egyptian who arrived from Azerbaijan was diagnosed with the disease. With this, the government was compelled to take stringent action to contain the disease.
All flight passengers will be subjected to scrutiny at airports. Foreigners arriving in the country should report at nearby health centres within 72 hours. Those who fail to report will be penalised. Private companies in Kuwait including oil companies have asked its employees from foreign countries to home quarantine themselves for 14 days.
