Kuwait City: Kuwait Prime Minister Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah has announced that COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed to all citizens as well as residents for free of cost.
He was addressing an open forum programme of various ministries here on Wednesday.
“No one will be forced to take the vaccine as part of COVID-19 prevention. It will be completely optional for all. COVID vaccine manufactured by American company Pfizer is expected to be available in Kuwait in mid-December 2020,” said the Prime Minister.
The health ministry plans to give the vaccine to 10 lakh people in the country during the first phase. As part of this, the Kuwait government has reached an agreement with the company to bring 2 million vaccine doses in the first phase of the rollout.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 cases have been decreasing in Kuwait for the past few days.
