'Malayali luck' continues; Pathanamthitta native bags Rs 12 cr in Abu Dhabi Big Ticket
Dubai: The story of Malayali people’s fortune keeps going. Another lucky Keralite has won Rs 12.72 crore (Dh 70 lakh) through Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw. Pathanamthitta native Anil Varghese Theveril who works in Kuwait is the last one who was hit by the lucky angel. He bought via online a ticket that has a number that matches his son’s date of birth.
Anil who is 50 years old has been an expatriate for the past 26 years. He is working as the executive assistant in Kharafi National company. Anil tried his luck after seeing many Indians win lucky draws in UAE. He had also not shared the ticket with anyone else.
Anil’s wife is Renu and son Rohit, who is a student of BCom. Anil intends to spend the prize money for his son’s education and charity. But he has not planned much. The prize winners who won Dh 1 lakh in the draw also include some Malayalis named George Kalarikkal Mathew, Satheesh Togotta, Baiju Pookkott Kuttappan, Irshad Patel and Saithalavi Moideen Kutty.
