Kochi: The time limit for linking the universal account numbers (UAN) of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) with Aadhaar number will end on August 31.
The PF office have informed the employers that PF share cannot be remitted if Aadhaar is not linked. Either the employer or the employee would not be able to remit money in the EPF accounts. Also, the employees will not be able to withdraw the PF share.
The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has directed the companies to ensure that the PF accounts of their staff have been linked with Aadhaar. Earlier, the last date for linking EPF and Aadhaar was fixed as May 30, but it was postponed to August 31 later.
The EPFO informed that linking PF accounts with Aadhaar is necessary to ensure smooth transaction of the benefits and to handle the account easily. Aadhaar and UAN can be linked via the Membership Seva Portal or EKYC portal of the EPFO.

Visit the website epfindia.gov.in/eKYC/
Click the Link UAN Aadhaar option.
Verify the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
Enter Aadhaar information and select Aadhaar verification mode (mobile OTP or email).
Verify OTP received on registered mobile number and complete linking.
