Supplyco earns Rs 132 cr as 'Samriddhi' onam kit hits record sale

Kochi: Kerala state civil supplies corporation (Supplyco) has registered a record sale by earning a revenue of Rs 132 crore solely through the Onam special sales this year. This revenue has been procured through the sales from August last week to September 7.

The Supplyco had distributed special Onam kits 'Samriddhi’ with 17 items during the Onam season. Each kit worth Rs 1000 was sold for Rs 900. Taluk fairs and mini fairs in addition to the sales at the district centres of the corporation also helped Supplyco to increase its revenue.

At least 11.13 lakh litres of coconut oil and 6,279 tonnes of rice were sold through the Supplyco fairs and outlets on these days. The other items sold well include sugar (2,318 tonnes), urad dal (878 tonnes), chilli (493 tonnes), green gram (487 tonnes), toor dal (408 tonnes), and coriander (264 tonnes).
