Kozhikode: Police have initiated procedures to freeze accounts of fintech company AnyTimeMoney Pvt. Ltd, Palazhi here, which allegedly swindled lakhs of money from staffers.

According to the staff, they were directed to invest money to get appointment in the company. More than 100 employees invested lakhs in the company as it promised higher interest rates. However, when they sought return of money, the company turned hesitant.

The issue came to light after two employees lodged a complaint with police. The officials examined the documents at the office and seized items including computers. They have been collecting information over that.

As of now, 11 employees have filed complaint with district police chief.

It may be specifically noted that fintech company formed in 2020 is working as an arm of scam-tained Kannur Urban Nidhi Limited, which allegedly lured crores from investors promising high interest rates. Three were arrested in connection with that.

Reports claim the magnitude of alleged scam done by Kannur Urban Nidhi Limited and AnyTimeMoney Pvt. Ltd totals more than Rs 150 crore.
