Kochi: Hair care products and accessories startup, for curly hair, ‘Manetain’, co-owned by Malayali entrepreneur Hinshara Habeeb bagged an investment worth Rs 75 lakh by getting featured in the Indian edition of renowned business reality show ‘Shark Tank’. The startup Manetain was established in 2018 by Aluva native Hinshara and Mumbai native Yuba Mohammed Romin Aga.

Manetain is an online retailer of hair care products, focusing on women with curly hair. Aman Gupta, the co-founder of 'boAt', has offered the investment in lieu of 10 per cent equity.

Hinshara and Yuba were befriended via an online community for women with curly hair. Manetain was later set up to address the difficulties of women with curly and wavy hair to maintain it.

The startup’s initial endeavour was the sale of heat caps. Soon, Manetain launched shampoo, conditioner and several other hair care products on the market. Hinshara said that the amount received via ‘Shark Tank’ will be utilised to expand the range of products and strengthen the marketing sector of the company.

Hinshara was working at Deloitte, an international auditing company while she established Manetain with her friend. She has pursued BCom from Christ University in Bengaluru.
