Kochi: A Malayali entrepreneur occupied the list of 75 women entrepreneurs prepared by the central government as part of the 75th anniversary of Indian independence. Aswathy Venugopal, who is co-founder and CEO of Kochi-based educational and technological startup Avasarshala, has been included in the list of Atal Innovation Mission.

75 entrepreneurs were selected considering their efforts and potential in introducing innovations that can transform the startup sector. The startups which are the beneficiaries of initiatives such as Atal incubation centre, Atal Community Innovation Centre and Atal New India Challenge under the Atal Innovation Mission were considered in the list.

The growth, sales rate and social influence of the startups were also examined.

‘Avasarshala’ is an online platform which provides different training sessions for school students along with facilitating opportunities to attend national and international programmes for them, said Aswathy Venugopal.
