Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s total plan outlay for the next financial year will be Rs 30,370 crore, reveal reports.

The annual state plan outlay has remained the same for the past two years. The reports suggested the trend will continue in the next financial year too.

In Rs 30,370 crore, the outlay for local self-government bodies will be Rs 8,099 crore. The outlay for local self-government bodies in the current fiscal year was fixed at Rs 8,048. The increase for the upcoming fiscal is based on the recommendation of the State Finance Commission.

Citing the Covid-19 pandemic and floods, the state government had reduced the previous years’ outlay by 20 per cent. In the current FY, plan fund expenditure of various projects is less. The expenditure as of date is 45.81 per cent of the outlay.
