Thiruvananthapuram: Finance minister KN Balagopal on Wednesday said that the department has allowed the Kerala Social Security Pension Limited Rs 1,800 cr to distribute the welfare pensions.

The pension was not given to the beneficiaries for the last two months due to financial constraints.

The government intervention comes in view of the Christmas festival. The pensioners would get up to Rs 3,200, their share for the last two months.

The distribution will be completed within the second week of December.
