Diesel touches Rs 100 in Kerala as companies continue to hike price; Oppn plans protest

Diesel price touched Rs 100 in Kerala on Sunday.

Diesel price touched Rs 100 in Kerala on Sunday. In Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram, diesel is sold for Rs 100.11 per litre.

The petroluem companies increased the fuel prices by Rs 38 paise for diesel and Rs 32 paise for petrol on Sunday. In the last 17 days, Rs 4.55 per litre was increased for diesel and Rs 2.99 for petrol.

In Kochi, petrol costs Rs. 104.57 and diesel Rs.98.14. In Thiruvananthapuram, prices of petrol and diesel stands at Rs 106.39 and Rs 99.83 respectively.

The diesel price doubled in five years. It was around Rs 50 in January 2016.

The opposition parties have decided to organise protests in the coming days.
