Kochi: Kerala based Southern Green Farming and Marketing Multi State Co-Operative Society Limited has entered into spice business, assuring fair price for farmers and affordable rate for buyers. The cooperative has launched spice products under the brand name ‘Farmfed’.

Cine actress Navya Nair inaugurated the launch here on Wednesday. The products are sambar powder, chicken masala, meat masala, fish masala, chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and bajji masala.

The spices are produced at the cooperative’s modern unit in Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation’s (KINFRA) Mega Food Park in Kozhippara, Palakkad. The plant has a daily production capacity of six tonnes.

“The objective is to ensure fair price for famers and provide the products at lower rates to customers by directing marketing and reducing middlemen,” said the cooperative’s chairman Rajesh Chandrasekharan Pillai.

According to cooperative’s managing director Akhin Francis and vice chairman Anoop Thomas, the plan is to expand its operation to other states too.
