According to Bloomberg Billionaires tally, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has returned to the top spot in the list of world’s richest people.
The centibillionaire has an estimated net worth of about $ 192 billion. At present, the wealth of his closest rival LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault stands at $187 billion.
The two have been in fierce competition for the top spot over the last few months. However, Arnault faced a setback this week, after LVMH’s stock plummeted on Wednesday.
Arnault had earlier surpassed Musk in the list, in December last year. LMVH, a global conglomerate, is home to brands including Louis Vuitton and Celine.
Elon Musk earns a fortune through Tesla, the electric automaker. As per figures, he owns about 13% of the company’s stock.
Apart from Tesla, the multi dimensional businessman functions as CEO of SpaceX and owns social networking platform TWitter.
Tesla’s shares have risen by 65.6% so far this year.
