Thiruvananthapuram: The state budget for the financial year 2023-24 will be presented on February 3 and finance minister KN Balagopal on Friday hinted at what the citizens can expect. The priority will be to safeguard the public interest, he said.
“No need to expect magic,” he pointed out during his interaction with Mathrubhumi News.
Balagopal noted that fees and taxes are the state government’s income-contributing sources.
The minister also took the opportunity to attack the union government. He alleged that the union government’s policies are creating financial problems for the state.
The focus is to improve administrative-level efficiency and set a framework to increase income and employment opportunities.
