Beta Group signs $100 mn MoU with Govt of Guinea

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala-based Beta Group, which owns the Nut King and Ole brands, will set up a $100 million industrial unit in the West African country of Guinea-Bissau to procure, process and export cashew from the country.

As part of this the company has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Government of Guinea-Bissau. Beta Group director and chairman, Beta West Africa Holding company Ramesh Kumar KP and Jose’ Carlos Varela Casimiro, Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Integration signed the MoU last Wednesday in Bissau.

Fernando Vaz, Minister of Tourism, Guinea-Bissau, Dr. J Rajmohan Pillai, Chairman, Beta Group, directors Rajnarayanan R Pillai, and Sachidanandan PS attended the function held at the Guinea Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Integration.
