Kochi: Aster Medcity announced the launch of the Centre for Daycare Spine Surgery, which enables the patients to go home the same day after the surgery. John Desmond Forbes Anderson, independent member of the House of Lords, UK inaugurated the centre.
The centre aims to provide same-day surgeries or procedures which require minimal hospitalisation, thereby lowering the risk of infection.
“This centre for minimum invasive surgery changes the way conventional operations are carried out and breaks the common notion of considering spine surgeries require more post-operative monitoring,” said Anderson.
Daycare surgeries are minimally invasive spine surgeries where procedures are facilitated by keyhole surgeries, which are highly safe and do not require hospitalisation for recovery.
“As the leader in healthcare, Aster will continue to introduce advanced facilities like this which improves the quality of our patients,” said Farhan Yasin, Regional Director (Kerala and Oman) of Aster.
