Video: Man jumps into lion’s enclosure in Thiruvananthapuram zoo

Thiruvananthapuram: In a shocking incident, a man jumped into a lion's enclosure at the Thiruvananthapuram zoo on Wednesday.

He was immediately rescued by the staff of the zoo. The incident happened at around 11 am. The man has been identified as Ottappalam-native Murugan.

He sneaked into the enclosure from behind the cage. The watchman who noticed him, immediately alerted other security staff.

There are two separate enclosures for a two-year-old lion and a three-year-old one in the zoo. Murugan jumped into the enclosure meant for the lion named Gracy. Onlookers said that the lion had nearly closed in on him when he jumped into it.

It is also reported that Murugan waved at the visitors when the staff were trying to save him. He suffered injury on one of his legs during the rescue attempt.
