Yuva Morcha march turns violent; BJP’s B Gopalakrishnan among others injured

Thiruvananthapuram: The protest march led by Yuva Morcha to the Secretariat on Saturday, demanding resignation of Minister KT Jaleel who was interrogated by the Enforcement Directorate, turned violent. Many people including BJP leader B Gopalakrishnan were injured.

A clash took place between the Yuva Morcha activists and police where the latter resorted to lathi charge, water cannons, teargas and grenades. One of the activist was arrested and removed.

It was Youth League members who took out a protest march to the Secretariat at first. This also ended up in police resorting to lathi charge and teargas.

Following this Yuva Morcha activists led a march to the Secretariat. They tried to remove the barricades and barge in. following this police took action.

Mahila Congress also took out a march to the Secretariat demanding Jaleel’s resignation.
