Adimali: In a bizarre incident, a youth set fire to his house and shared the visuals on social media through Instagram Live. The incident took place around 6 am on Tuesday in Adimali, Idukki. The house has been partially destroyed in the fire.
“According to his family members, the youth is mentally unstable. Hence, we have not registered any case,” said the police.
As per reports, the 19-year-old youth poured diesel over the house and set it on fire. Following which, his parents tried to douse the fire using water.
Later, local residents and fire brigade arrived at the spot and the fire was brought under control. The youth, who went missing after the incident, has not been found yet.
Apparently, he had also poured diesel near his neighbour’s house. However, the neighbour soon poured water avoiding further mishap.
The rescue operation was led by Adimali Fire Rescue Station Officer Praghosh, fire officers Abhishek, James, Jilson, Rahul Raj, Saneesh and Ragesh among others.
