Youth fatally stabbed in Alappuzha for allegedly questioning verbal abuse at mother

Thuravoor (Alappuzha): A young man was stabbed to death by a fish merchant here on Saturday night. The deceased is Mithun (29), son of Madhu.

The incident took place Saturday night at 9 pm, along the national highway south of Thuravoor Junction.

Mithun's mother, who had just purchased fish from a roadside shop, was allegedly subjected to verbal abuse by a seller from the Thirumala area. An argument ensued, leading to a physical altercation between Mithun and the fish seller in question. During the scuffle, Mithun was stabbed and collapsed to the ground.

Witnesses promptly rushed to Mithun's aid and transported him to Thuravur hospital. Despite their efforts, his life could not be saved. The police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter.

The accused fled the scene after the incident and is still on the run.
