Kozhikode: One person died and another youth severely injured after their bike collided with a lorry on the Thamarassery Ghat Road. They fell into a 30-ft deep gorge following the accident on Monday.
The deceased, Sulthan Bathery native Rashid (24), succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.
Sharif, who was travelling with Rashid on the motorcycle, was seriously injured in the accident. He is undergoing treatment at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.
The accident happened at 3 pm on Monday near Thakarappadi and the 9th hairpin turn.
The bike on which the youth was returning to Wayanad from Kozhikode collided with the lorry which was coming down the ghat road.
They were rescued by passengers who came to know about the accident. Two fire and rescue units from Kalpetta also participated in the rescue operation.
