Thiruvananthapuram: The Youth Congress workers blocked trains here in protest of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioning Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

YC state president Shafi Paramabil and others laid down on the track at Thiruvananthapuram Railway Station to stop the train. The protestors were later arrested by the police.

Shafi Parambil said the protests would continue against the BJP government for using ED to 'harass' Sonia Gandhi in a case that does not involve "financial transaction of a single rupee."

"ED is not arresting or questioning BJP leaders in cases involving them. If we look closer to incidents that happened in Kerala, it is evident that ED refuses to act against parties other than Congress," he said. He alleged that ED had become a part of RSS.

Railways said the timings of the trains have not changed due to the protest and they will move legally against the protestors.

ED on Thursday questioned Sonia Gandhi in a money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper. The day was a show of strength for the party with street protests and leaders courting arrest across the country.
