Kottayam: A youth was arrested on Friday for allegedly threatening a girl student demanding her naked pictures via social media. The accused has been identified as Ajay George (21), a vegetable vendor in Elanji.
Ajay, who befriended the girl via Instagram, repeatedly sent obscene messages and threatened her to send her naked picture. Following which, the girl lodged a complaint with the Velloor police.
The accused, who was produced before the judicial magistrate court, has been remanded for 14 days.
The investigation was led by sub inspectors Sharanya S Devan, Vijayaprasad ML, ASIs Ramdas KT and Sindhu KB.
