New Delhi: A committee of the young leaders in Congress that formed in connection with the ‘Chintan Shivir’ proposed the leadership give priority to youth in the committees. The set of proposals includes giving priority to people below 45 years in all committees of the party and considering youth for the leadership. The committee also recommended strengthening the youth wing.
The All India Congress Committee has sped up the efforts to bring more youngsters to the leadership after facing defeat in the assembly elections in five states.
Meanwhile, Ramesh Chennithala who is a member of the committee which formed to propose changes in the party submitted 11 recommendations.
The party had last month announced that the 'Chintan Shivir', a three-day brainstorming session from May 13-15, would be held in Udaipur, where party leaders from across the country will discuss internal issues confronting it and come up with solutions to galvanise the organisation.
