Kollam: A young lawyer was shot by his neighbour in Kottarakkara. The victim is Mukesh (34), a native of Pulaman. The incident took place at 11 pm on Wednesday following a dispute between neighbours.
Mukesh is currently undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. The surgery to remove the bullet from his body will be held on Thursday.
The police have arrested Mukesh’s neighbour Prime Alex in connection with the incident. He has been charged with attempt to murder.
Reportedly, the lawyer’s family and his neighbours were in dispute earlier as well. There has also been an incident when the neighbours allegedly thrashed Mukesh’s parents at his house. However, it is not clear under what circumstances led to the current attack.
According to police, another person was also with Mukesh at the time of the incident. He has been taken into police custody. Further action will be taken against him after interrogation.
