Kottayam: Pala MLA Mani C Kappan has reiterated that he will not hand over Pala seat in the upcoming Assembly Polls. He said that NCP national leadership has given him assurance regarding the Pala seat. Mani C Kappan was responding to the reports that Pala seat will be handed over to Jose K Mani.
“There is no question of handing over Pala seat. This has already been stated. As an MLA, I was able to perform really well. How can they demand Pala seat? It is I who won the election here,” Mani C Kappan stated.
NCP is still a part of LDF. No discussion has been held with LDF regarding Pala seat. Kappan also added that he did not hold any talks with UDF. Mani C Kappan further stated that NCP was neglected by the alliance during the LSG polls and that Jose K Mani faction could not perform well in the election.
There were reports that Pala, which is the sitting seat of NCP, will be given to Jose K Mani faction. Jose K Mani is likely to contest from Pala constituency in the assembly polls after resigning Rajya Sabha MP post he holds currently. Mani C Kappan did not accept the Rajya Sabha MP seat which was offered to him instead of Pala.
