Women's Commission calls for internal grievance redressal cells in film associations

Kochi: Kerala Women's Commission has approached the High Court seeking the formation of internal grievance redressal cells in film associations to address problems faced by women in the movie industry.

With this, associations including the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (A.M.M.A), Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce, FEFKA, Kerala Film Producers Association and MACTA will be asked to form such cells.

The commission called for this move in an affidavit submitted before the HC in response to a plea filed by Women in Cinema Collective seeking measures to address the issues faced by women in the film industry.
