Woman withdraws plea to quash case against Saseendran
Kochi: In a setback to former minister and NCP leader AK Saseendran in the sleaze talk case, the complainant, who filed the plea asking to quash the case, has withdrawn the petition.
This will be a severe setback to Saseendran's move to return to the cabinet after reaching an out-of-court-settlement in the case.
It is assumed that the petitioner withdrew the petition foreseeing the possibility of facing a setback from the High Court.
Police had registered a case against former minister AK Saseendran on the directions of Thiruvananthapuram sessions court over a complaint filed by a woman journalist.
The case was registered against Saseendran for insulting womanhood.
However, the woman later approached the High Court requesting to quash the sleaze talk case. The petitioner told the court that she is not interested in going ahead with the complaint.
