Thrissur: A woman who was under treatment for rabies after being bitten by a dog died at the Government Medical College Hospital here on Monday. Nadampadam native Paru was identified as the deceased. She was admitted to Thrissur Govt. Medical College in critical condition last week.
According to reports, Paru was attacked by a dog inside a forest while collecting forest resources last month. Even after suffering a dog bite, she neither sought medical care nor took the rabies vaccine.
Three days back, she was rushed to the hospital after her health condition worsened.
Three others were also bitten by the dog on the same day. But all of them had sought proper medical treatment. It is reported that they are all doing fine at present.
